1 – Do Something Small
Consider the legend of the Lamed-Vov, 36 righteous individuals who bear the weight of human suffering, their identities a mystery. This anonymity underscores the importance of acting as if you might be one and treating others likewise, for the world’s stability relies on their existence.
This legend reminds me of the responsibility to treat people with compassion, understanding, and empathy. What if I, or anyone, were a Lamed-Vov member? It underscores the importance of behaving righteously, starting with small acts of kindness that sow positive seeds.
As individuals and as a species, we shape what’s available to us. I believe our power to open doors, individually and collectively, hinges on our present-moment behavior, actions, words, and thoughts, particularly in the kindness of our actions.
