Compassion Games 2012 : Inspiration #3

As I wrote in the mission description, what we are doing this week is participating in what educator David Spangler calls manifestation, “the art of fashioning a co-creative, synchronistic, and mutually supportive relationship between the inner creative energies of a person’s own mind and spirit and their counterpart within the larger world in order to bring a new and desirable situation into being.”

Take a minute to reflect on that definition. What I’m talking about here is tapping into YOUR “inner creative energies” to bring something desirable, what I’m calling wonderful, into the world. For this to best work for you, it’s useful to believe that we are all connected, perhaps even part of one whole. As such, what happens in one part of this “whole” impacts the rest.

Pay attention to how YOU feel as you get involved with this mission. The more thought you put into completing it, the more significant this feeling will be and the more impact it will have. Also of importance, do something that you love to do. For instance, if you enjoy art, provide something artistic that you made.

That reminds me of how a class participant named Dana completed this theme. An art teacher, Dana took considerable time to create a brightly colored envelope filled with things she loves. She placed it in a prominent spot outside a public library with a note indicating it was intended to be a gift for anyone lucky enough to find it. Another example came from a mom who had cleared out some ivy in her yard but in the process destroyed a fantasy play area of her children. Inspired by the character of Boo Radley in “To Kill a Mockingbird,” she placed some gifts in the now-exposed gnarled roots of a tree for her kids to find.

Again, keep in mind that this mission includes the word “wonderful.” The intent is for YOU to be the one to decide what it means. And as I said, do it in a way that is fun for you, which is a byproduct of tapping into your “inner creative energies.”
