Fully Meet an Opportunity

“I had a wildly irrational thought: ‘This is my friend.'”
Reading: Read the first 9 chapters of Section III, concluding with “Being Fed.” Take your time, read mindfully, and approach the text as if it were a conversation with a dear friend. Pause and set the book aside when you feel the need to delve deeper into something. Remember, the value is in the process, not merely saying, “I read the book.”
Kind Action: This week’s action is inspired by the chapter “Being Fed.” Rachel recounts an encounter her friend had with the Dalai Lama as an “opportunity to meet.” Similar opportunities come our way daily. Take time to recognize these “meetings” in your life this week. Pick at least one and let it inspire wonder in your heart. To do so, observe your role in these moments and actively engage with them.
Blessings Journal: Summarize your “opportunities to meet,” whether or not you acted on them. You might need to record them after the fact, as some may only become clear in hindsight. Writing them down aims to enhance your awareness of such opportunities as they occur.
