Kindness Blessings – Reflection #3

“For Everyone Who Has Been Given More Blessings Than They Have Received”

The dedication in Rachel’s book emphasizes that we receive more blessings than we realize because we may not always be open to them. Rachel’s primary aim in writing is to help people recognize and embrace these blessings.

Back in 2010, when my family lived in France, the house in which we lived had, of all things, a urinal. One day, I found myself admiring its craftsmanship, recognizing the artistry in its design and installation. It made me appreciate the interconnected infrastructure that allows for everyday conveniences like fresh water and waste removal. This experience made me ponder how often I take things for granted and how many blessings I overlook.

While it may not be feasible to be in a constant state of awe, leaning towards appreciating the little joys in our daily lives can lead to a happier and more fulfilled existence. Developing the ability to find blessings in challenging moments is a helpful way to do it, as the practice of spotting the positives can be invaluable in such situations.
