Undivided Kindness – Assignment #2

Across the Great Divide

“Every time we get in touch with the truth source we carry within, there is net moral gain for all concerned.”

Reading: Read Chapter Two. As I will remind you in some manner each week, treat your reading as a special, interactive experience. Get ready for it by carefully preparing the place where you will read. Make yourself a cup of tea or some other warm beverage you enjoy. Bring writing tools with you and take time to record your thoughts as they happen, either in the book or in a notebook. Allow your mind to relax and be open as you read. Be present. If you find your mind is racing or you get distracted, close the book and slow your mind or come back to your reading later.

Kind Action: Take time to consider from where you draw your support, both from individuals and communities. Expand this to include communities that have supported you in the past. Pick one of these communities, current or past, that has supported you in terms of the ‘True Community’ section in chapter two, what Parker calls a ‘Circle of Trust.’ If you have a hard time finding such a community, choose an individual. Express your gratitude for this community (or individual) in a way that joins your ‘soul and your role.’

Wholeness Journal: Throughout the week, take special effort to jot down times and situations in which support is shown you. Try not to judge these as ‘journal-worthy’ or not. Include them all.
