LovingKindness meditation offers a way to honor the “Counterculture Rule” while responding to concerning situations. Instead of offering unwanted advice, you send positive energy.

The meditation begins with self-compassion:

  • May I be filled with lovingkindness.
  • May I be safe from inner and outer dangers.
  • May I be well in body and mind.
  • May I be at ease and happy.

Gradually, extend these sentiments to others: loved ones, friends, strangers, even those you dislike or with whom you conflict.

This practice can be a simple way to introduce positive energy into difficult situations.
