“The Book of Qualities”
One of my all-time favorite books is called “The Book of Qualities” by Ruth Gendler. Gendler takes dozens of what one might call “characteristics” and personifies them, taking a word like courage, for instance, and describing it this way, “Courage has roots. She sleeps on a futon on the floor and lives close to the ground. Courage looks you straight in the eye…” It continues from there and comes with Gendler’s own illustrations.
I have probably given this book as a gift more than any other, so much do I appreciate it.
In a week in which I’ve suggested you “befriend life” I think “The Book of Qualities” gives you some insight into how to do that. You can learn more about the book, and perhaps be inspired by it, by visiting this link. And if you go to its Amazon page you can both order it (with a small percentage of the purchase price going to support Kind Living) and look at sample pages.
I highly recommend it!

This sounds like the type of book I like. Thanks for the Amazon link, I’m going to get one 🙂
