Each day in 2020, I’m adapting that day’s entry from the book “365 Tao: Daily Meditations” into a haiku. I’m doing this, though, following the structure of “Blackout Poetry.” I darken the words I’m not using and highlight those I am, thus allowing my haiku to emerge from the page. At the end of each seven day period, I post the previous seven as a string of haikus.
January 1-7:
Hopeful, we prepare,
commit to our inner selves.
Transforming things come.
First, sense the divine.
Naturally, look within.
Reach the inner One.
Devotion made straight,
our hearts see our path clearly.
Nothing faraway.
Stillness. Minds settle.
Gravitate toward the holy.
Become clear. Be still.
Heartbeat and breath sing.
Silence leads the deepest sound.
Power emerges.
Living things emerge.
A sprout, an enormous tree.
The nature of life.
Trees stand, being true.
Inner nature is power.
Patiently, be true.
How lovely they are!
Thank you for the effort made
Brightening our days!
A response in the form of a haiku! Thanks, Gail! Talk about brightening the day!!
You are so welcome!
Waiting now for more to come
Exchanging word play….!
Once again, clever.
Your response left me grinning.
More haikus? Coming.
Look forward to more found haiku.
Thanks, Christina. So nice to have you following along!
