10 June – 16 June – Daily Haiku

Each day in 2020, I’m adapting that day’s entry from the book “365 Tao: Daily Meditations” into a haiku. I’m doing this, though, following the structure of “Blackout Poetry.” I darken the words I’m not using and highlight those I am, thus allowing my haiku to emerge from the page. At the end of each seven day period, I post the previous seven as a string of haikus.

June 10 – June 16:

As the sun rises,
experience is in us.
Know you are alive.

People navigate.
Precedence is like a map.
We learn on our path.

Freedom to express
the power of two extremes.
Just satisfaction.

You are energy.
The human master within.
You unite yourself.

Consider the paths.
No superior practice.
Commit, climb, summit.

Disengage power.
Sprout brightness of divine light.
The torrent is closed.

Sharing openly.
Holy knowledge imparted.
Selfless compassion.
