“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.” –Lao Tzu
This week’s theme, should you choose to play along, begins by having you read an article in Yes! Magazine that provides 10 scientifically proven things a person can do to be happier. As you read it, pay attention to any of the 10 suggestions that stand out for you.
Consider each carefully, and then let your favorite two or three rise to the top. Of these “finalists,” choose one to make the focus of your kindness practice. Interpret it in a way that is meaningful to you and that encourages you to engage in a specific action.
To get the most of this exercise, you’ll need to read the article early in the week. Allow the 10 suggestions to percolate a bit as you consider them. Perhaps share the article with a family member or a friend. Part of the idea here is to get you to consider all 10 of these things while narrowing them down to choose just one to make the focal point of your kindness practice this week.
