25 Mar – 31 Mar 2020 – Daily Haiku

Each day in 2020, I’m adapting that day’s entry from the book “365 Tao: Daily Meditations” into a haiku. I’m doing this, though, following the structure of “Blackout Poetry.” I darken the words I’m not using and highlight those I am, thus allowing my haiku to emerge from the page. At the end of each seven day period, I post the previous seven as a string of haikus.

March 25-31:

Assertions test you.
Go live the absorbed teachings.
Utilize yourself.

A thought without shape.
Ordinary functioning.
Matters fall away.

The whole examined.
Contemplation and living.
The same seamless whole.

Words are imperfect.
Spend time living your true life.
Words are only words.

One engaged insight
is something significant.
Your form builds itself.

A single artist,
with emphasis on context,
can understand lives.

I know conjecture,
for those I sometimes wonder,
to touch harmony.
